Dear Chester Customers here's why we won't see you this Christmas...

It's a shame. The reason being Chester West And Chester Council have cancelled our last 2 markets of 2015 to install their Christmas Market with huts and lights and products from all over the world but sadly not local ones!  

"Why don't you do that one then?" I hear you all sing..... 

Well this local lass spoke to Marketing Cheshire back in September when we discovered that one of the best markets of the year in December was cancelled. We were told that we could be a part of this if we could stump up roughly £2400! Now this covers from 19th Nov until 20th Dec so it's a long old market HOWEVER it's 7 days a week and as is the case with many food producers we need to make during the week to sell on a Fri, Sat, Sun. We do not buy our products in they are handmade at home! So time was a factor as well as cost.

I did write to Marketing Cheshire to ask if there was any provision for a local small business to do just a weekend on their market but it was a no go! I even approached another company to see if we could get a chalet between several local food producers to rotate so we could have a local presence at the Christmas market but was turned down.

As you can see I've tried my best to be in Chester this Christmas and it's a real shame Rock & Roll folks and I'm going to miss you all, you all feel like family now to Bongo and me!

The Taste Cheshire Farmers Market for this month has been moved to 14th Nov to accomodate the Christmas market (as we were notified today) and at the time of writing i'm trying to organise our resources - I'll keep you posted if we can do it.

PHEW.....anyway...how can you get your delicious locally made chilli condiments?
